When her salon doors closed for lockdown, Rebecca set about bringing self-care to people at home. The one product all her customers needed and used was of course, soap.

After researching herbs and oils containing both antiviral and antibacterial qualities, she stumbled on the story of oil of thieves.

The story of Thieves oil…

In the 15th Century when the plague was ravaging Europe, three thieves stood before a judge accused of robbing plague victims.

The judge, intrigued as to why the thieves had themselves escaped the plague, offered leniency if they shared their secret. The men who had worked in the docks with imports of herbs, oils and spices, used their knowledge to devise a special blend of oils. They poured this oil on rags, which they wore inside face masks, protecting them from contracting the plague as they robbed from the stricken.

Thieves oil soap…

Rebecca’s hand poured soaps are inspired by the story of thieves oil. Using this old recipe and blending the oils with west cork herb infused honey to protect, moisturise and care for hands.

This was the first of Rebecca’s products. She continues to expand the range using the very best of organic and seasonal ingredients some of which she grows herself or forages in West Cork.
